Backing cups backdrop

Today I’m gonna post a tutorial for a DIY I found on the finnish blog Hey Look…a very cool DIY! Making a backdrop with the cupcakes baking cups! I know, you’re gonna ask “Why should I need a backdrop made of cups of cupcakes? Well, you can use it as a backdrop for a photo booth (which is a set set up to take pictures to entertain guests during the wedding reception), or as a background for a desserts table, or simply as a decoration for your reception . Personally I think that the idea is easy and cheap to realize, in addition it is very nice. This backdrop is really fun because they used shiny colored baking cups… but if you want to get a softer effect just buy them in pastel colors.
Material to use:
– Baking cups (obviously …)
– Glue
– The panel on which to paste the cups
The only steps that you have to follow is to fold in half the baking cups, and paste them following a certain order to the panel.
But If you simply want to make a garland, you can fold it in half and then attach them to a string with glue. And you’re done!
Here you will find the post on Hey Look.

DIY Portacoriandoli

I found a very nice idea to replace the classic (and a bit annoying) launch of rice to the newlyweds after the ceremony.
I mean, I’ve seen brides blinded by the wild launch of rise (by single and envious girlfriends?) and grooms spitting grains of rice in abundance (launched by particularly witty friends?). There are alternatives to the rice to prevent the lynching of newlyweds: have you ever thought of replacing it with confetti?
Personally, I find it a much more original and fun idea, plus it’s very easy to do.
You just need plastic tubes and confetti. Here in the picture they used fluo and gold confetti: if you don’t find them just buy some sheets of tissue colored paper and cut them into very small pieces. I think it is possible to find the tubes in any big stationery, or you can buy them online here.
The effect is playful and fun!

Bridal hairstyles: simple vintage waves

Today, a post about a bridal vintage hairstyle.

I found on the site The Beauty Department a photographic tutorial which explains very clearly how to do a vintage inspired bridal hairstyle.
It seems that it takes less than 30 minutes to do it. I say “It seems” because I have about 1 inch of hair, so for me it is a bit difficult to prove it. But if you can, try this! Whether you are a bride, whether you are not! The effect is very sophisticated, perfect for an “Old Hollywood” wedding style.
If you want to follow the description step-by-step, you can find it by clicking here.
